Jeffinho, a 26-year-old Brazilian winger who was not planned to be part of Botafogo's squad for 2026, will join the Chinese club Liaoning Tieren on a loan agreement until December 2026. The Chinese club will pay a 300,000 euro fee for the loan, which is the highest amount Botafogo has ever received for a loan deal, and will also cover the player's entire salary. Before this agreement was reached, Santos had also attempted to sign the attacker and submitted a formal proposal. However, those negotiations did not proceed after Santos's coach, Juan Pablo Vojvoda, felt there was limited space in the squad for a player with Jeffinho's characteristics. The player's contract with Botafogo is set to expire at the end of 2028, and his current market value is €4.50m, according to Transfermarkt. He was previously sold by Botafogo to Olympique Lyonnais in January 2023 for a fee reported to be €10.0 million, before rejoining the club in January 2025 for €5.3 million. Other clubs recently linked to the player include Shakhtar Donetsk and CSKA Moskva.
