Jefferson Savarino Transfer from Botafogo to Fluminense
After Fluminense made an inquiry for the 29-year-old Venezuelan attacking midfielder Jefferson Savarino, Botafogo proposed a deal. The proposal involved receiving the young defensive midfielder Wallace Davi, whom their board monitors and considers to have potential. In the preliminary talks, Botafogo also requested financial compensation to release Savarino. Botafogo suggested this framework, although there are currently no open negotiations. The club is seeking to reduce its wage bill for 2026, and Savarino's salary is one of the highest in the squad. Earlier potential swaps for Savarino with São Paulo and Corinthians did not advance because his family is settled in Rio de Janeiro. A move to Fluminense would not present this issue. Savarino has earned 51 caps and scored 4 goals for Venezuela. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €9.00m. Botafogo signed Savarino from Real Salt Lake in January 2024 for a fee reported to be €2.5 million. In August 2025, the club's management confirmed an offer from Al-Rayyan, which was reported as €7 million.
