Jean-Charles Castelletto was initially very close to joining Al Wakrah, a Qatari club, but ultimately chose Al Duhail instead. The transfer to Al Wakrah did not materialize as Al Duhail successfully reversed the situation. Castelletto, who played 31 matches in all competitions during the 2024-2025 season for Nantes, officially left the club for Al Duhail in this summer transfer window. The move, which brought around 4 million euros to Nantes, sees the Cameroonian central defender signing a three-year contract with Al Duhail.
