Cadena SER reported that Barcelona explored a plan this summer to re-acquire Jan Virgili from Mallorca and subsequently loan him to Real Betis. This plan was considered but ultimately did not proceed.

It is reported that Real Betis would target Mallorca's 19-year-old Spanish winger, Jan Virgili, as a replacement should their winger, Ez Abde, depart. Ez Abde is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. Virgili can be signed for €12m because of a relegation release clause that was activated earlier this week. Barcelona has a 40% sell-on clause for the player. Virgili, who became a Mallorca player in August 2025, is under contract until 2030. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €15.00m. The Spain U21 international has made 3 appearances and scored 2 goals for his country. Additionally, he has been linked with FC Barcelona.
