Meyer stated that after a long and very open conversation, the player informed him that he would not accept the club's contract offer and will move to a different team. The point of disagreement in the negotiations was the contract's duration; Halle proposed only a one-year deal, whereas Löhmannsröben wanted a longer term. Meyer explained that he could understand the player's perspective but the club has a policy of only offering one-year contracts.
