Ján Krivák, the long-term captain of FC Košice, has been officially presented at FK Železiarne Podbrezová following his transfer. Krivák stated that he had wanted to extend his contract in Košice for an additional year, but the club did not agree. He mentioned that at the beginning of the transfer window, he did not expect this move, but then rumors about Kazakhstan emerged and he received permission to leave. He said that this is likely the reason for the current outcome. Krivák, whose contract in Košice was valid until the end of May of the following year, received an interesting offer from Podbrezová and they agreed. He added that he is now a player of Podbrezová, a club for which he has affection, and that he will be committed to it.

Slovakian centre-back Ján Krivák, 32, is moving from FC Košice to FK Železiarne Podbrezová within the top Slovak football league and has signed a two-year contract with FK Železiarne Podbrezová. Krivák stated that Podbrezová had shown interest in him and that because he started his professional career there, he had always been close to the club. He added that there were no plans in Košice to extend his contract after this season, which is why he accepted a new challenge. Krivák has one cap for Slovakia.
