After a full year without playing, 31-year-old full-back Jamilu Collins has signed with the German club Erzgebirge Aue to relaunch his career. In an interview with Footy-Africa, former Nigerian international Simon Zenke said he was happy Collins is returning to a familiar environment. Zenke commented that being absent for a year is a very long time for a player, so it is good to see him sign for a new club. He noted that Collins has spent time in Germany and has heard he can speak the language. Zenke added that this move is an opportunity for Collins to work hard and regain his form in a suitable, lower-pressure environment, even if it is not at the level he is accustomed to.
