Livingston have signed goalkeeper Jamie Smith, 23, from a financially troubled Hamilton Academical on a short-term contract until the end of the season. Manager David Martindale signed the player as back-up keeper Jack Hamilton is currently unavailable due to an ankle injury. Smith, a Scotland youth international, leaves a club fighting insolvency that has recently released several first-team regulars. He will serve as a backup for Jerome Prior and is expected to be among the substitutes for Tuesday's match as Livingston host St Mirren. The transfer is Livingston's second signing in two days.
