It is reported that Oxford United are planning a seven-figure transfer for Nottingham Forest midfielder Jamie McDonnell, who is currently on loan with Mansfield Town in League One. The deal for the 21-year-old could be worth more than £1m. The Championship club is looking to end McDonnell's loan spell at Field Mill early to make him a permanent member of Matt Bloomfield's team. The Northern Ireland international, who joined Forest's academy from Glentoran, has not yet made a senior competitive appearance for his parent club, and the move would be his first career period in the Championship.
