James Igbekeme: Wisła Kraków Contract Extension

James Igbekeme has signed a new contract with Wisła Kraków, valid until mid-2026, after previous interest from other clubs.

James Igbekeme's camp began negotiations for a return to Wisła Kraków. The club agreed to the terms, and after passing medical tests, Igbekeme signed a one-year contract.

James Igbekeme is set to arrive in Kraków soon to undergo medical tests and sign a contract with Wisła Kraków. The transfer saga was complicated, involving negotiations with Wisła Kraków initially, which broke down due to high demands from Igbekeme. He then opened discussions with Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza and Śląsk Wrocław, but both did not materialize. Eventually, Igbekeme showed willingness to sign with Wisła Kraków after initial refusal from the club. A mutual agreement was reached, and he is expected to sign a one-year contract. The terms are now more favorable to the club.

James Igbekeme, who departed from Wisła Kraków during the summer, is said to be on the verge of rejoining the team. Journalist Bartosz Karcz provided this update on the 'Studio Reymonta' program on Goal.pl's YouTube channel. Igbekeme initially became part of Wisła Kraków on loan from Real Zaragoza in February 2023. After playing in 27 matches and contributing four assists, his contract was not renewed. Despite interest from other clubs like Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza and Śląsk Wrocław, new negotiations with Wisła Kraków are reportedly close to a successful conclusion. Bartosz Karcz mentioned that it has been a 'lesson in humility' for the player and his agent, whose expectations have now lowered, making a return to Wisła Kraków highly probable.

James Igbekeme has been in negotiations with Wisła Kraków for a potential return. Initially, discussions took place but ended in failure. However, he has resumed negotiations with the club and this time, it seems likely to have a successful outcome, according to Piotr Koźmiński from Goal.pl.

Wisła Kraków conducted negotiations with James Igbekeme's representatives for a potential return to the club after he initially did not want to extend his contract. However, the club decided to withdraw from further negotiations. The club emphasized the need for players who prioritize the club and mentioned that price must match quality.

James Igbekeme might return to Wisła Kraków after his contract was not extended at the end of the season. Mariusz Jop, the coach of Wisła Kraków, confirmed that the option of Igbekeme's return is being considered. Igbekeme was previously on loan at Wisła Kraków from Real Zaragoza, and later joined from Ponferradina on a one-year contract. His return is expected to be clarified soon.

James Igbekeme did not sign a new contract with Wisła Kraków as of June 11. His agent attempted to find him a new club, but has been unsuccessful so far. The agent has now approached Wisła Kraków to discuss the possibility of signing a new contract. Igbekeme would need to lower his financial expectations for this to happen. This information was shared by Grzegorz Wojtowicz on 'Studio Reymonta'.

Wisła Kraków intends to extend the contract of James Igbekeme, whose current contract expires at the end of June. However, his departure cannot be ruled out. Currently, Transfermarkt estimates his market worth at 250k euros.
