James Furlong Transfer from Hull City to Maribor
Irish footballer James Furlong has been loaned to Maribor by Hull City. The loan agreement is valid until the end of the current season and has an option for an extension for the following season. Turkish businessman Acun Ilicali owns both clubs.
James Furlong, 23, has completed a permanent move from Hull City to Slovenian side Maribor, a club also owned by Acun Ilicali. The defender, who joined Hull from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2023, leaves without having played a Championship match. Before the transfer, Hull City had attempted to arrange a move for Furlong to a League Two club, but it was not completed before the English deadline. With his Hull contract set to expire this summer, the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international has signed an agreement with Maribor until the end of the current campaign, with an option for an additional 12 months. His current market value is €300k, according to Transfermarkt.
