James Rodríguez Transfer from León to Tigres UANL

The future of 34-year-old Colombian attacking midfielder James Rodríguez at Club León is uncertain. According to information from Paco Montes, his time at the club is reportedly coming to an end due to complications in his contract renewal. A final decision on his status is expected around October 30 or 31. Even before these renewal issues, teams like América and Tigres, along with some MLS clubs, were reportedly planning to acquire him. Regarding the interest from América, a source close to the club informed Récord that there is currently no interest in the player, although this does not rule out potential future interest from the board. There is a strong possibility that his contract, which is set to end on December 31, will not be renewed. If he becomes a free agent, Tigres would be interested in signing him, as would interested U.S. soccer clubs like New York City, Chicago, and Orlando. The Colombian international joined the club in January 2025 and has scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 12 appearances in the Liga MX Apertura this season. His current market value is €2.50m, according to Transfermarkt.
