SC Paderborn is searching for a new starting goalkeeper after the departure of loan player Dennis Seimen. According to RevierSport, the club has made an inquiry to the agency representing Jakob Golz. Golz is a 27-year-old German who drew attention with strong performances for Rot-Weiss Essen in the 3. Liga last season. He has a release clause in his contract worth around €200,000, which can be activated until the middle of June. It is reported that Paderborn has other candidates on its list, including Ron-Thorben Hoffmann of Eintracht Braunschweig and Florian Kastenmeier of Fortuna Düsseldorf. Golz joined Rot-Weiss Essen in July 2019 and made 29 appearances in the 2025/2026 season. His contract runs until June 2027, and his current market value on Transfermarkt is €350k.
