St Mirren are set to strengthen their attack by signing 24-year-old English striker Jake Young from Stevenage on a permanent deal. The 6ft 1 player will be brought in to try and share the attacking load and help the Buddies move up the Scottish Premiership table. Manager Stephen Robinson had indicated a forward player could potentially join the club before the 2-0 loss to Falkirk at the weekend, only to reveal post-match that the deal was uncertain due to an injury in training. It now appears that Young is ready to join and compete for a place in the Paisley side, with hopes of including him in the squad for the trip to league leaders Hearts on Wednesday night. Young joined Stevenage on 30/08/2024 and has made 6 appearances in League One this season. Transfermarkt lists his current market value as €225k.
