NorthEast United announced on their official pages that they had signed Jairo Samperio. Jairo Samperio, who played for Sestao River in the Spanish third division last spring, has joined the Indian Super League team NorthEast United following his previous team's relegation. The 32-year-old Spanish winger participated in ten matches for Sestao River, accumulating 359 minutes on the field. With his former team relegated, Samperio is now looking forward to a new challenge in the Indian Super League. NorthEast United, who finished fourth in the regular season last year but were knocked out in the first match of the playoffs by Jamshedpur, are hoping to benefit from Samperio's experience, including his significant achievement of winning the Europa League with Sevilla in 2014.
