Jadel Katongo, a 21-year-old English and Zambian defender from Manchester City's academy, was close to moving to Turkish side Kayserispor last week after negotiations between the clubs had seemingly concluded. Reports claimed that a deal had been reached for the player, who spent the last two seasons on loan with Peterborough United. Katongo has since indicated his departure is imminent, posting a farewell message on Instagram on Sunday stating that his 14-year spell at Manchester City had come to an end. He will leave the club without ever having made a first-team appearance. He has four caps for England U20 and has made four appearances in the Premier League 2 this season. His current market value is €350k, according to Transfermarkt.
