Journalist Alan Nixon reported on his Patreon page that Blackburn Rovers are considering a move for goalkeeper Jack Thompson. Thompson is a free agent as his contract at Derby County ended at the end of June. Derby County had confirmed in mid-May that they were in discussions regarding his future, but nothing has materialised since then. A fee would not be required for Blackburn Rovers to sign Thompson. The teenager would not be brought in as a senior option and would instead more likely be an addition for their U21s with a view to progressing in the future.
