Jaaso Jantunen Transfer from Freiburg II to Hansa Rostock

Hansa Rostock has signed 21-year-old Finnish goalkeeper Jaaso Jantunen on loan from SC Freiburg II until the end of the season. The transfer was made as a replacement for Yannic Stein, who has a long-term absence due to a knee injury. The 1.98-meter-tall Jantunen moved to Freiburg in 2022 from the HJK Helsinki youth academy, playing for the U19 and second teams before signing his first professional contract in 2023. FCH sporting director Amir Shapourzadeh stated that after Stein's injury, it became clear they needed to fill the position with a player of equivalent quality. Shapourzadeh noted his positive impression of the combination of Jantunen's attributes, mentioning his size, athleticism, and dynamism. He also described him as a courageous goalkeeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and actively participates in build-up play. Jantunen stated he is excited for the new challenge, describing the club as a special football location with great fans. He added that he has learned a lot in Germany and is ready to take the next step in his career. The goalkeeper has 7 caps for the Finland U21 national team.
