On Wednesday, Atlético-MG officially announced the transfer of 20-year-old Chilean center-back Iván Román to Colo-Colo in Chile. The defender will join the Chilean club on a one-year loan. Román joined Atlético from Palestino in February of the previous year. His playing time had diminished under manager Eduardo Domínguez, and he was selected just once after the World Cup. In a social media statement, Atlético specified that the deal involves financial compensation and does not include a purchase option for Colo-Colo. Román's contract with Atlético-MG extends until 2029. For the 2025/2026 season in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Román made 6 appearances and scored 1 goal.
