Demonstrating his commitment to the club, Alejo opted to forgo a lucrative contract in Nicosia in favor of signing a two-year deal at Zorrilla, with the intention of aiding the team in its efforts to return to the top division. His return to Valladolid follows a career that included stints at several other teams, such as Alcorcón, Eibar, Getafe, Málaga, and Cádiz, where he played for five and a half seasons.
