Iuri Medeiros Transfer from Hapoel Be'er Sheva to Újpest

Iuri Medeiros, a 30-year-old Portuguese forward, has ended his contract with his former club, Hapoel Beer-Sheva, due to personal reasons, becoming a free agent before signing with Újpest. Medeiros, who began his career at Sporting Lisbon, has played for several clubs including Moreirense, Boavista, Genoa in Serie A, Legia Warsaw, Nürnberg, and Braga, where he won the Portuguese Cup. He also achieved an Israeli Cup victory with Hapoel Beer-Sheva. At Újpest, Medeiros received the number 45 jersey from Arijan Ademi, who switched to number 8. Medeiros expressed that the vision of Újpest was what motivated him to join the club. Benczédi Balázs, the managing director, and Damir Krznar, the head coach, commended Medeiros' technical skills and his potential impact on the team. The club described Medeiros as a technically superb and creative player, effective in tight spaces, possessing exceptional kicking technique, capable of breaking down deep defenses, and versatile enough to play as a right winger or behind the strikers. His record in the Portuguese top flight, with 140 matches resulting in 40 goals and 41 assists, was highlighted as evidence of his talent.
