Isac Lidberg is moving from second-division club Darmstadt 98 to the Lower Rhine region, and the striker has signed a contract with the Foals until 2030. Borussia sporting director Rouven Schröder said that Lidberg is a goal threat, physically strong and knows how to hold his own in challenges. Schröder added that combined with his dynamism and mentality, the result is the profile of an aggressive centre-forward. He also stated that in their talks, they noticed how eager and ambitious Lidberg is about the tasks at Borussia, and they are glad to have filled another important squad position with quality at an early stage. Lidberg said that he was immediately excited when he heard about Borussia’s interest, calling it a big club with an impressive history. The player mentioned that as a child, he followed the Bundesliga and repeatedly watched Borussia matches, which is why he was easily convinced and it quickly became clear to him that he would like to take this step.

According to SkySportDE, Isac Lidberg's transfer to Borussia Mönchengladbach is complete, with a full agreement reached with Darmstadt 98. The fixed transfer fee is €3.5m plus add-ons, and the total package can rise to €4m. Darmstadt also secured a sell-on clause. The contract will be until 2030, and a medical is currently being scheduled.

According to Sky information, Isac Lidberg is expected to have a transfer fee of around five million euros. If Gladbach pays that sum, Lidberg would become the most expensive sale in Darmstadt's club history.
