According to Fanatik, Samsunspor have announced that an agreement in principle has been reached with Fenerbahçe for the transfer of İrfan Can Eğribayat. Samsunspor also stated that İrfan Can Eğribayat has been invited to Samsun to undergo medical examinations and complete transfer negotiations.

Yüksel Yıldırım stated that an agreement has been reached with Fenerbahçe for the transfer of goalkeeper İrfan Can Eğribayat and that he will play for them on loan until the end of the season.

Erdem Açıkgöz reported that Samsunspor has made an official offer to Fenerbahçe for goalkeeper İrfan Can Eğribayat. Açıkgöz also reported that talks are expected to conclude shortly. İrfan Can Eğribayat is 27 years old and has experienced a lack of regular playing time at Fenerbahçe. He was previously the subject of interest from several leading Polish Ekstraklasa clubs, which included Legia Warszawa, Lech Poznań, Widzew Łódź, and Cracovia. A former Türkiye U21 international, Eğribayat has made 3 appearances in the Süper Lig this season. His contract with Fenerbahçe is due to expire in June 2027, and his current market value on Transfermarkt is €2.00m. The club's asking price was reportedly €1.2 million in December 2025 and January 2026. This amount is the same as the fee Fenerbahçe paid to acquire him from Göztepe in July 2023.
