Irakli Azarov, a defender for Shakhtar Donetsk and the Georgia national team who has 25 caps for his country, is considered highly likely to leave the Ukrainian championship for a club in Greece. AEK Athens has negotiated with the 24-year-old and has received a verbal agreement from the player for a move to the Greek Super League. After contacting Azarov, who joined the Donetsk team in August 2023, the Greek club plans to approach Shakhtar to discuss the details of a future agreement. Contacts between the two clubs are expected to take place soon. Azarov's contract expires in June 2028, and his transfer value is 2.5 million euros.
