Krasnodar's head coach, Murad Musaev, commented on defender Ilya Vakhania, who is set to join the "Bulls" from "Rostov" during the summer transfer window. According to "Championship," Musaev said that Vakhania has confirmed his level over a long period, performed a large volume of work at Rostov, and was a leader and captain of the team. The coach stated that everyone they consulted before the transfer held Ilya's personal and professional qualities in high regard. Musaev mentioned that Vakhania appeared to him to be a relatively modest young man. He added that the player will require some time for adaptation, as Krasnodar's requirements are slightly different from Rostov's. Musaev also said that they strongly desired this transfer and are looking forward to beginning their work together.

Ilya Vakhaniya stated that only Krasnodar made a concrete approach for him. On Match TV, Vakhaniya said that he thinks there would be more chances at Krasnodar in terms of football.

Agent Vasily Golyan noted that the matter concerning Vakhania and Krasnodar began long before the present, and that discussions about him had been taking place for six months with more than just Krasnodar. The agent admitted there was difficulty in reaching an agreement with Rostov on financial terms. During one phase of the negotiations, specific arguments from one deal (Kozlov/Vakhania) were used to secure results in a second one, considering Krasnodar's involvement in both deals.

According to an announcement on Krasnodar's official website, Ilya Vakhania has signed a contract with the club. The announcement stated that the transfer is fully agreed upon and finalized by both parties. The contract will become effective on June 16, 2026, and Vakhania will complete the remainder of the current season at Rostov.
