Leicester City are close to agreeing a deal to sign 19-year-old Finnish centre-back Ilari Kangasniemi from Inter Turku. The clubs have agreed on a £2m fee for the Finland U21 international, who was a youth player at Inter Milan before joining the Finnish club last summer. In the 2025/2026 Veikkausliiga season, Kangasniemi made 14 appearances and scored one goal. The defender, who has two caps for the Finland U21 team, has a contract with Inter Turku until 31/12/2028 and a current Transfermarkt market value of €250k. Kangasniemi is expected to arrive in England to complete his medical with Leicester City.
