Igor Rabello Transfer from Atlético Mineiro to Fluminense

Igor Rabello was initially set to join São Paulo, but Fluminense stepped in during the negotiations, according to reports by journalist Venê Casagrande and ESPN. It was revealed that Rabello was offered a higher salary by Fluminense than what São Paulo proposed. To make the move to Fluminense, Rabello will need to end his contract with Atlético-MG without any financial implications. His preference for playing at Fluminense is seen as beneficial for the club. Rabello, who has been part of Atlético-MG since 2019, saw a decline in his playing time in recent seasons, featuring in only eight matches in 2025, with three starts, and scoring once. His addition to Fluminense is aimed at bolstering their defense, which has faced challenges due to injuries to key players such as Ignácio and Thiago Silva. Despite securing Rabello, Fluminense plans to continue exploring additional defensive reinforcements, having recently enhanced their attack with the acquisition of Argentine midfielder Luciano Acosta and Colombian forward Santi Moreno.
