Igor Lichnovsky Transfer from América to Necaxa
América needed to free up a roster spot for a non-Mexican player to register Rodrigo Dourado and selected Chilean centre-back Igor Lichnovsky, 31, to depart. The club had an agreement prepared with Necaxa for the defender, who has half a year remaining on his contract with an option for one more. The proposed deal involved América letting him go for free and covering a portion of his salary. However, the transfer was not completed because Lichnovsky refused to return to Necaxa. América will now have to terminate the player's contract to clear the necessary space on their roster. Lichnovsky, who joined the club in July 2024, has 14 caps for Chile and has made 8 appearances and scored 1 goal in the domestic league this season. His current Transfermarkt market value is €900k.
