Shahar has a contract with Maccabi Tel-Aviv until June 30, 2026, and is reportedly an alternative target if the club cannot sign Dor Perec. Both players won the league title with Maccabi under manager Robbie Keane in the 2023–2024 season. A potential transfer for players from Maccabi may be dependent on Keane remaining as the manager for Ferencváros, as his departure could put any deal at risk. The transfer's feasibility could also be impacted by the club's financial situation, particularly if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
