Hyeok-kyu Kwon is joining second-division club Karlsruher SC from FC Nantes. According to Sky, the 24-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a contract with the German side until 2028 and has also completed his mandatory medical examination. Karlsruher SC reportedly secured the signing over numerous competitors from Belgium and Poland. The South Korean is a U23 international and has 10 caps for his country. This season, he has made 12 appearances for Nantes in Ligue 1, having joined the club in July 2025. His market value is currently listed by Transfermarkt as €1.00m. He moved to Nantes from Celtic for a reported sum of €250,000, and had previously joined the Scottish club for €1.0M.
