Bold.dk reports that Hjalte Toftegaard will not be signing with Hvidovre after a recent trial. He will not get a contract with Hvidovre at this time and is required to look for a new club if he still wants new challenges.

Danish central midfielder Hjalte Toftegaard, 19, from Hillerød is on trial at Hvidovre. Bold had previously reported this move. Max Albæk from Randers is also on trial, attempting to earn a contract. Both players will train with the club from Thursday until Sunday. Head coach and manager Martin Retov stated that this period will be for mutual assessment to determine if they are the players the club requires. Toftegaard and Albæk are scheduled to be included in the squad for a training match against Brøndby on Sunday. Afterwards, the club and players will evaluate a potential agreement. Toftegaard joined Hillerød in July 2025, and his contract with the club is valid until June 2028. His current market value is €50k, according to Transfermarkt. He has four appearances for the Denmark U18 team and made 11 league appearances with one assist during the 2025/2026 season.
