Héctor Hernández Transfer from Corinthians to Gil Vicente
Gil Vicente has signed 30-year-old striker Héctor Hernández from Corinthians on a contract for a season and a half, until June 2027. The Spanish player is known in Portugal from a previous successful period with Chaves and arrives as the replacement for Pablo Felipe, who was recently transferred to West Ham for a club-record fee. Hernández, who participated in five matches this season, stated that he was not satisfied with his situation at Corinthians and was motivated by the project Gil Vicente presented. He credited coach César Peixoto and sporting director Flávio Soares as being fundamental to his decision, citing the confidence they showed in him. Hernández promised to work hard to help the team, expressed certainty that he would score many goals and assist his teammates with his experience, and added that he expects his adaptation will be easy due to his familiarity with Portuguese football. He has earned four caps and scored one goal for the Spain U19 team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €800k.
