Halid Šabanović, a 26-year-old former youth international for Bosnia and Herzegovina, has signed a contract with Vukovar 1991, the current last-place team in the HNL, until the end of the next season. Šabanović had been a free agent since the beginning of the season following a three-year period at Angers. His last competitive match was on April 12, 2025, when he played the first half for Angers' second team against FC Challans. He had originally transferred from NŠ Sarajevo to Angers in the summer of 2022 for 300,000 euros. The season before last, he was on loan at Valenciennes, where he made four appearances in Ligue 2. During his time with Angers, Šabanović played in 19 matches and scored two goals.
