Gwion Edwards has joined Exeter City on a one-year deal that includes an option for a further year, following his departure from Morecambe upon the expiry of his contract. The 33-year-old Welsh winger, who officially joins Matt Taylor's side on 1 July, is the first permanent signing for the Devon club since their relegation to League Two. Last season in the National League, he made 34 appearances for Morecambe, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists, having joined the club in January 2024. Exeter's manager Matt Taylor said he has been impressed by Edwards as a person after meeting with him over the last few weeks. Taylor noted the player's experience and excellent availability in the last couple of seasons, adding that he expects Edwards to be an important part of the senior group.
