Gustavo Nicola, a 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder, has been presented as the latest signing for Paysandu for the remainder of the Série B season. The player stated that he did not think twice about the move when the club contacted him, instructing his agent to approve the deal without knowing what his salary would be. He added that he is very motivated and wants to seize the opportunity. Before the transfer, Nicola played 44 games for his former club, CSA, this year, and had renewed his contract for the current season. At Paysandu, he will reunite with coach Márcio Fernandes, under whom he briefly played at CSA. The midfielder was suspended for six months in October 2024 for an anti-doping violation involving the substance isometepteno, but the penalty was reduced to three months after legal action.
