Burnley FC officially confirmed the arrival of French goalkeeper Grégoire Coudert. This confirmation was made three days after Julien Lachuer of Stade Brestois stated that Coudert was being sought after and would be leaving the club. Lachuer's statement followed a friendly defeat to Nottingham Forest. The 27-year-old joins the Championship club on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, signing a contract until 2030. Coudert was expected to be the starting keeper for the Ligue 1 side this season. He had previously joined Brest in 2021 from Amiens on a free transfer. Egil Selvik will now be the starter for SB29 in his absence. Grégoire Coudert made 30 appearances in Ligue 1 during the 2025/2026 season and has a current market value of €4.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
