Giovanni Castaldi, a 19-year-old Italian left-sided defender from Benevento, is close to moving to Sorrento on loan for what will be his first significant experience as a professional. The 2007-born player's move comes after Sorrento finalized the deal despite interest from many other Serie C teams. Castaldi joined Benevento in January 2026 and his contract is valid until 2028. During the 2025/2026 season, he made 21 appearances and scored one goal in Serie D - Girone H, adding 12 appearances in Serie D - Girone G and 2 in Serie C - Girone C.
