Gilberto Mora Transfer from Tijuana to Manchester City

Rafaela Pimenta assures that European teams like Manchester City have inquired about the Mexican youth player. In an interview with El Universal, Pimenta mentioned that there is widespread interest in him, but it is difficult to make a decision at the moment because they are far from the time when he will change teams and many variables can arise in the meantime. The player cannot go to Europe until he is of legal age, which will happen in October 2026.

Gilberto Mora is being closely watched by several major European clubs, including Manchester City. Due to FIFA regulations, he cannot leave Mexico until October 2026, when he turns 18, which would delay his possible arrival in Europe to January 2027.

Manchester City are among the European clubs linked with Tijuana midfielder Gilberto Mora. Recent reports suggest that offers from Europe have already arrived for Mora, but Tijuana have rejected them due to their low value. According to reports, Tijuana will not sell Mora for less than €15 million ($17.4 million) and the team expects the eventual fee to be almost double that amount. Due to FIFA’s regulations, Mora will have to wait until he turns 18 to be able to move away from Liga MX, however, teams can agree a deal with Tijuana beforehand and wait for the player to become an adult. Mora’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, told TUDN that with €15 million ($17.4 million) she could not even buy one of Gilberto Mora’s legs.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Manchester City are among the main suitors from England for 16-year-old Tijuana midfielder Gilberto Mora, with Arsenal and Chelsea also mentioned as interested parties. The Mexican teenager is also reportedly being monitored by Real Madrid and Barcelona, and a significant transfer is being anticipated for next summer. According to Transfermarkt, the player currently has a market value of €4.50m.
