Gilberto Mora Transfer from Tijuana to FC Barcelona

Massive European clubs such as Barcelona have been linked with Tijuana midfielder Gilberto Mora. Recent reports suggest that offers from Europe have already arrived for Mora, but Tijuana have rejected them because of their low value. According to reports, Tijuana will not sell Mora for less than €15 million ($17.4 million), with the team expecting the eventual fee to be almost double that. Mora will have to wait until he turns 18 to be able to move away from Liga MX due to FIFA’s regulations. However, teams can strike a deal with Tijuana beforehand and wait until the midfielder reaches adulthood to make the move. Mora’s agent Rafaela Pimenta told TUDN that with €15 million ($17.4 million) she cannot even buy one of Gilberto Mora’s legs.

FC Barcelona has scouts at the U-20 World Cup to observe young talent, and Gilberto Mora is on their radar. The sporting management considers him a player to watch for the future, but his youth is a factor distancing him from the club's priorities. His status as a non-EU player would prevent him from joining Barcelona until he turns 18. He will turn 17 on October 14, so there would be a one-year wait before he could be registered. The club currently wants to sign players who can contribute immediately. His representative, Rafaela Pimenta, stated that for 15 million dollars "not even a leg" of the young attacking midfielder could be bought. The price continues to increase daily. Barcelona will not make a move for his signing now unless there is a change of plans.

According to Récord, Barcelona is closely following 16-year-old Tijuana midfielder Gilberto Mora. However, a signing is considered still distant as he is not of legal age.

Barcelona are reportedly keeping a close eye on Gilberto Mora’s situation, according to Mundo Deportivo. Mora’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, confirmed approaches have been made.

TEAMtalk reported that Barcelona are among the elite clubs tracking Gilberto Mora, who is described as Mexico’s next big thing.

TUDN reported that Gilberto Mora had received a formal offer to travel to Barcelona and train with the club's youth categories. Despite being a fan of Real Madrid, he has been associated with Barcelona. Ignacio Ruvalcaba, who oversees the youth ranks at Tijuana, expressed his hope that Mora would remain with Tijuana for the year before possibly moving to Europe. Mora, recognized for his exceptional talent and considered a 'Golden Boy' of Mexican football, received an invitation from Barcelona a year ago to train at La Masía, their renowned youth academy. At 16 years old, he has already made a significant impact in Mexican football, breaking records for his age and showing promise as a versatile player capable of playing multiple attacking roles. Ruvalcaba mentioned that Mora dreams of playing for Real Madrid but acknowledged his potential to succeed in Europe. While Barcelona has extended an invitation, Ruvalcaba hopes Mora will continue to develop at Tijuana for another year before moving to Europe, possibly after the World Cup.
