Gianluca Saro Transfer from Cremonese to Reggiana

Gianluca Saro stated in his presentation press conference that he chose Reggio Emilia (Reggiana) because it is a historic club with a passionate fan base. He mentioned that the sporting director Fracchiolla had been following him for years and he is happy that the opportunity to join Reggiana finally materialized. Saro comes after three years at Cremonese, where he played intermittently.

Tuttomercato reports on Gianluca Saro's loan move to Reggiana from US Cremonese. Gianluca Saro joins Reggiana on a one-year loan from US Cremonese. He is a goalkeeper born in 2000 and has been part of youth teams such as Pro Vercelli, Juventus, Cesena, and Empoli. He debuted professionally in Lega Pro in the 2019/2020 season with Pro Vercelli, later playing for Crotone and Cremonese since 2022 in Serie A and Serie B.

According to Tuttomercato, Reggiana has shown interest in acquiring Gianluca Saro from Cremonese. The Italian goalkeeper, who is currently with Cremonese, is in the process of recovering from a knee injury he sustained in February. Reggiana is keen to secure his transfer in the final days of the transfer window. This move is seen as a potential 'derby' transfer within the Emilia region. Additionally, Modena is also competing to sign the young goalkeeper, creating a competitive atmosphere as both clubs compete for his signature. If the transfer goes through, Saro, who was born in 2000, would be making a fresh start in Serie B following his recovery. The interest from both clubs underscores the regional rivalry and the strategic importance of securing his services before the transfer window closes. Saro's contract with Cremonese is in effect until June 2027, and Transfermarkt estimates his value to be €300k.
