According to Algemeen Dagblad, Feyenoord has officially terminated the contract of Gernot Trauner. His expiring contract would have been automatically extended if the club had not acted before April 1. Trauner will be available on a free transfer after this season, although his departure is not yet certain because a new contract could be agreed upon in the coming months. AD reports that Trauner is willing to consider a new contract. Trauner has not played this season because of a lingering Achilles tendon injury. He has returned to the training field but is not yet able to play in matches.
