Belgian centre-forward Gerard Vandeplas is set to leave Antwerp, where the club is reducing its squad due to a surplus of attackers. According to Het Nieuwsblad, the 20-year-old player is departing to get more playing time. He will move on loan to Dender, a club in 1B aiming for immediate promotion after being relegated. De Kadavers are also said to be negotiating a purchase option. Separately, Claudio Reulens reported on 27 August 2026 that Vandeplas was moving to Dender in a loan deal that includes an option to buy. Vandeplas joined Antwerp in January 2025 and has a contract with the club until June 2028. He has been capped twice for the Belgium U19 national team. His current market value is €1.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
