According to reports, Nikas chose to forgo the money owed for the final year of his contract because he was not included in the club's plans and wanted to find a new team to get more playing time. Nikas had joined Panathinaikos in 2023 from Levadiakos and initially stayed on loan at his former club for one season. He made 9 appearances during his time at Panathinaikos.

This is conditional on Nikas being released from Panathinaikos. The interest is based on a recommendation and wish from Giannis Anastasiou. Nikas, who joined his current club on 11/09/2023, has a contract until 30/06/2027. His current market value is €450k, according to Transfermarkt.
