Plymouth Argyle are reportedly interested in signing Scottish left-back George Johnston, who is available on a free transfer after being released by Bolton Wanderers. Argyle are among several clubs planning to sign the 27-year-old, which also include Bradford City, Luton Town and Scottish Premiership side Hearts. Johnston, who has been capped 10 times for the Scotland U21 team, joined Bolton in July 2021 and made 43 appearances in the 2025/2026 League One season, scoring one goal. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €800k.
