Huddersfield Town and Burton Albion, which are both League One clubs, are reportedly competing to sign Dundalk's Irish-Nigerian forward Gbemi Arubi. The 22-year-old's performance for the Irish club led to a recent call-up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad. Dundalk manager Ciarán Kilduff has acknowledged that Arubi has attracted attention and also stated that the club had not received anything concrete at that stage. Dundalk wish to retain the forward, who joined in January 2025, as he has become central to their return to the Premier Division. However, their position could be challenged if the interest from England develops into a formal offer. Arubi's contract is valid until November 2026, and he has scored 6 goals and made 3 assists in 20 league appearances this season. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €200k.
