Gbemi Arubi has moved to Burton Albion after impressing with Dundalk in the League of Ireland. The 22-year-old joined the Brewers for an undisclosed fee and signed a three-year contract with an option for a further 12 months. Burton and Huddersfield Town had previously been linked with Arubi, and Burton has now completed the signing.

Pete O'Rourke reported that Gbemi Arubi has decided to join Burton Albion. Arubi had interest from clubs in England, Scotland and Belgium.

Huddersfield Town and Burton Albion are reportedly competing to sign 22-year-old Dundalk forward Gbemi Arubi, who holds both Irish and Nigerian citizenship. This season, he has scored six goals and provided three assists in 20 Premier Division appearances. He recently received a call-up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad, for whom he is yet to be capped. Dundalk manager Ciarán Kilduff has admitted that Arubi, who joined the club in January 2025, has attracted significant interest but clarified that the club has not received any concrete proposals at this stage. Dundalk wish to retain the player, whose contract runs until November 2026, but continued attention from League One clubs could challenge their position if a formal offer is made. His current market value is estimated at €200k by Transfermarkt.
