TEAMtalk reported that Sassuolo was very close to signing 25-year-old Brazilian defender Gabriel Pereira from FC Copenhagen and remains interested. The Serie A club was among several interested parties, including Burnley, Sunderland, and FC Koln, as the transfer window nears its end. Despite Sassuolo's interest, Pereira indicated his desire to stay at FC Copenhagen for the time being, largely due to his enjoyment of the club and its fans, as well as the opportunity to compete in the Champions League. FC Copenhagen has set a price tag of €10m to €12m for Pereira, who is considering his options after the Champions League campaign. The player's contract is set to expire in June 2029, and his market value is currently estimated by Transfermarkt to be €6m.
