Gremio is considering selling their 17-year-old player, Gabriel Mec, to a European club in the summer. Head coach Luís Castro, a former Shakhtar manager, is actively playing the youngster to help increase his market value. In addition to Shakhtar, other clubs such as Liverpool, Benfica, and Sporting have also shown interest in the attacking midfielder. Shakhtar's bid for Mec was reportedly €16 million, but Gremio indicated they would sell the player for a minimum of €20 million. Gabriel Mec will turn 18 on April 11, which will permit a move to Europe in the summer if all parties reach an agreement.
