Sevilla is one of several European clubs, alongside Villarreal, Newcastle, PSG, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Porto, that are closely following Grêmio's 18-year-old attacking midfielder, Gabriel Mec. Grêmio is close to renewing the player's contract until September 2031. The club's intention is to extend his current deal, which runs until September 2027, due to the possibility he could sign a pre-contract elsewhere. Grêmio plans to carefully evaluate each offer for the player, whom they internally value at between 15 and 20 million euros. Last year, an offer of 15 million euros from Shakhtar was rejected by Grêmio, the player, and his staff. More recent reports from 2026 state that Shakhtar Donetsk reportedly made a €15 million offer in May, and in March the club reportedly bid €16 million, which Grêmio countered with a minimum asking price of €20 million.
