Eintracht Braunschweig has announced the signing of Frederik Jäkel, a 25-year-old German central defender who is leaving RB Leipzig permanently. Jäkel has signed a contract with the second-division club from Lower Saxony that lasts until 2028. He was already part of Braunschweig's squad on a loan basis during the previous season, but his season ended when he sustained a cruciate ligament injury on the second matchday. The injury prevented him from playing for the entire season. According to Transfermarkt, the former Germany U21 international has a current market value of €400k.
